Install RIVIL SMS
The app installs directly from here, not from Google Play, so the phone asks for a few extra steps. Setting names can differ a little from one phone to another.
1Prepare the phone
- Auto Blocker (on Samsung): Settings > Security and privacy > Auto Blocker > off.
- Play Protect: Google Play > profile picture > Play Protect > gear icon > turn off app scanning.
2Download and install
Download the appWhen the phone asks, allow installing from your browser. Only download the app from this page.
3Connect the phone
You get a code from your RIVIL SMS administrator. Open the app, then scan the QR code or type the 8-character code.
The app is in Romanian for now. To scan, tap Scanează codul QR. To type the code, use the Cod de conectare field, then tap Conectează.
4Give the permissions
On the app's first screen (Stare), tap Acordă. If Android blocks the SMS permission:
- Go to Settings > Apps > RIVIL SMS.
- Tap the three dots at the top right, then Allow restricted settings. If the option does not appear, try once to give the SMS permission, then come back.
- Under Permissions, allow SMS and Phone, plus Call logs if you use calls.
5Turn your protections back on
When you are done, turn Auto Blocker and Play Protect back on. If Play Protect flags the app, choose to keep it. For a new version, turn them off again only while it installs.
